Yet a workable payment platform has been elusive

Technology sharks have always wanted a piece of the payments business. A payment creates a lot of data that can be monetized. Consumers have a long history of paying recurring fees. Android Pay and Apple Pay are still bloated and cumbersome. The big problem with current mobile payment systems is friction.
